HIP AND HOLY searches the world for beautiful things and brings them to the marketplace. We are 2 sisters who love and appreciate the little things. Every piece of our collection is designed or hand picked with love. Our signature "little rose" coin purse as well as the exquisite La Vie Parisienne jewelry line will bring joy to you and those you gift.
"the little rose" is the first seed we planted, (our very own creation). A vintage, velvet rose coin purse. We have a BIG dream of making a difference in this world, one petal at a time. Each part of The little rose was created with intention... -THE PURSE- THE PENNY- THE PROMISE
THE PURSE: is a purse with a purpose- to carry your tzedakah (charitable givings).
THE PENNY: Mamma taught us never to give an empty purse. "Put a penny in it", she would say. We have replaced the penny with a token of love so that your purse should always overflow with abundance.
THE PROMISE: Our pledge is to give 10% of all our profits from THE LITTLE ROSE coin purse to feed and comfort the hungry children of the world.
We hope you enjoy your little rose as much as we enjoyed co-creating it. Divinely inspired, Liane and Nicole.
LA VIE PARISIENNE by Catherine Popesco is an exquisite line of vintage inspired jewelry.
The collection originates in old Parisian workshops established over 200 years ago. The pieces are made of "old silver" a unique French process of laying sterling silver or 14K gold plate over a copper base which are then hand set with brilliant Swarovski crystals.
Wonderfully romantic and steeped in the tradition of magnificent craftsmanship. A timeless collection that reflects the art and culture of the past and holds a valuable place in the present.
About the sis-preneurs Liane Wainstein and Nicole Wainstein:
Liane and Nicole Wainstein, 2 sisters born and raised in South Africa, are the co-founders of hip and holy, a brand that embraces the cool and the chic infused with a spark of Godliness. Their family relocated to California just after the Wainstein sisters finished high school. Liane entered the world of beauty, traveling the globe building“The Hair, Health and Beauty” brand under Carlton Hair. Exposure to the magnificence of products at the beauty and gift shows fueled her obsession with beautiful things. All the while, on a journey of self-discovery and being a seeker at heart, she earned her Yoga Alliance Hatha teacher training certification and had the privilege of attending a retreat with Thich Nhat Hanh who inspired her studies of Vipassana Meditation.
Nicole, upon her arrival to America, began working with big names in the food and hospitality industry, from opening restaurants for Wolfgang Puck in the Middle East and around the USA, to launching the Mozambique restaurant in Laguna Beach. She drew inspiration from Steven Covey, developing a strong work ethic based on fairness, integrity, honesty and human dignity.
While both sisters enjoyed their jobs as traveling entrepreneurs in glamorous businesses, they felt that they wanted something more, something of their own.
Hip and holy, the brand co-founded by Liane and Nicole Wainstein is built on foundational values of “appreciating the little things”, quality craftmanship and gifting with joy. Each piece of their purposefully curated collection of original designs and beautiful items are thoughtfully created or handpicked with love. Their popular little rose coin purse perfectly captures the spirit of the brand, representing a promise to consider the needs of others before self. The Wainstein sis-preneurs takes this guiding principle of “tzedakah” - or charitable giving - one step further by pledging 10% of the little rose profits to organizations that feed and comfort the children of the world. Both buyers and sellers of “the giving purse”
have a chance to do “tikkun olam” - acts of kindness to repair the world. Together, they collaborate to deliver a stunning collection. Being partners just comes naturally, they wouldn’t want it any other way. Liane supplies the creative inspiration while
Fulfilling a lifelong dream of working side by side, the Wainstein sisters formed a partnership, bringing their wealth of world experience to hip and holy, establishing the brand with a higher purpose and dream of inspiring real change in the world.
Nicole manages much of the logistics to create a harmonious brand built on their individual strengths.
With dreams of “bread and roses”, the sisters are planning on transforming a vintageVW van into the “hip and holy traveling boutique” which will, double as a mobile lunch kitchen to donate lovingly prepared boxed lunches to the hungry.
When they aren’t designing pieces or dreaming of new ideas for their brand, Liane can be found on her yoga mat or spending time with her husband and two children, along with volunteering in her kids’ classrooms. She also bakes delicious bread from a secret recipe she discovered on an African safari. Liane sells this truly exquisite“loaf of note” and donates proceeds to families in need.
Nicole enjoys relaxing with her husband and watching movies, pampering her rescue dog, Bobbi, and solving word games and puzzles. She also loves being Auntie toLiane’s little ones and spending time with her mom and other sister, Tracy.
